Slots for custom orders are very limited and don't come available very often. Use this listing to pay the initial $1000 deposit to get on the list. First come, first served.

I only take a few custom orders at a time, and they fill up quickly! Saddles will be built in the order deposits are paid and delivered within a year of your first deposit.

Here’s What to Expect:

• When you pay this $1000 non-refundable deposit, it secures your spot on the custom saddle order list.

• After your checkout, a link to an optional form will be sent to your email for you to fill in. You can let me know what you’re thinking…what you like, what you don’t, how you plan to use your saddle.

• I will call you within 5 business days to go over all of the details of your custom saddle. At this point, we will try to nail down the tree specs so that I can get your tree ordered and on its way.

• I order your custom handmade saddle tree from the treemaker.

• When the tree arrives, a second $1000 non-refundable deposit will be due. I will get in touch with you again to finalize the details. The tree specs can’t be modified at this point, but if you’ve changed your mind about anything else, let’s talk!

• Your saddle will be handcrafted with premium materials—built just for you, by my own two hands, in my one-woman shop.

• When the saddle is complete, the final balance and shipping (if applicable) will be due.

• Your Swinging Spade custom saddle is all yours, to enjoy for years to come!

It all starts here.

Each saddle starts out as a couple sides of Hermann Oak premium quality skirting leather, a handmade tree of the highest quality, and some carefully-designed hardware. The saddle pieces are strategically cut from specific parts of the hide, depending on the form and function of the individual piece. Most of them will be cut down further later in the process to match the design, style, and structure of the saddle.

This all happens in my one-woman workshop in rural Eastern Oregon.
